Well loves, just like that, next week is… October. INSANE. I’ve already had fall content in full force over on Instagram but wanted to round up a few simple wardrobe pieces on my radar for the season. Autumn is the perfect time to get back to basics with neutral colors and warm textures. Here are a few of my selections for the season:

A versatile cardigan is a great transitional piece that can carry you from season to season. I love this one from Leith. It’s super cozy and easy to accessorize with a long pendant necklace or blanket scarf. I’ve recently started to invest more in high-quality and durable pieces and this is offered at a great price point.

During summer when you’re out and about, a lightweight crossbody is the ideal. This makes fall a great time to switch out your bag in favor of something more substantial and in a richer fall hue. This gently distressed leather tote is perfect for school, work, and evenings out.

Stripes, stripes, and more stripes. You can’t go wrong with a basic striped long and short sleeve tee for fall. These are the best for layering and classic pattern mixing. Wear them under open-faced cardigans, ponchos, and structured jackets for an effortlessly put together look.

Don’t feel like you have to limit your autumn attire to cardigans and scarfs. Textured skirts like this also have a place in the season (at least for us Californian’s) when combined with more practical pieces. This sweater comes in multiple festive colors to get you in your fall feels, and is perfect for layering with your favorite bralette or cami. I purchased my first pair of over the knee boots last year, and since then have added 2 more colors to my collection. They are absolutely essential for elevating that fall outfit and pair perfectly with jeans, leggings, and skirts.
