A little bit about me and how this little corner of the blogosphere came to be. I have a background in marketing, advertising and creative directing but have been blogging sporadically since high school (when my dad first introduced me to HTML coding via Myspace; ah, the good ‘ol days.) While I highly value those skills learned from my corporate job, I decided that I wanted to start making a more intentional effort of celebrating life by documenting the ways I add personal and creative touches to it. I was in need of a creative space; something that was 100 percent “me.” Something that I could grow from the ground up and take complete ownership of.

Thus the birth of The Mata Mix: my own little mix of everything that makes me happy (and hopefully, will be a bright spot in your day too!)

So what can you expect to find here? Well, the short answer is that it’s a space to share my passion for infusing creativity into life, style, and travel. But it’s also a place to talk about the tough and raw stuff too. Maybe, just maybe this will serve as a source of inspiration to someone out there who is learning as they go, or tackling new endeavors like I am. When I think about what gets me out of bed in the morning, what fuels my day, and what brings me the most joy, it is when I am creating in all aspects of life and I truly embrace this opportunity to share what I love with you all.
