‘Tis the season for dressing up! The Holidays are wonderful for so many reasons, but having an excuse to get dolled up has to be one of my favorite things about this time of year. It’s the perfect opportunity to be a little extra fancy in a bold texture, or pop of color; and I can’t help but to take advantage of all the beautiful decorations that are literally everywhere in sight. Today, I’d like to share a festive holiday look that dresses up a more casual piece that you likely already have in your closet.
OLD NAVY RED FLANNEL | EXPRESS CORSET SKIRT | BETSEY JOHNSON HEELS | GOLD GLITTER CLUTCH
One of my closet staples is a high waisted skirt. Being petite, I aim for clothing that accentuates my waist, and the proportions are just more flattering for my body type in my opinion. I scored this skirt as a Black Friday find, and my favorite thing about it is the adjustable corset tie which really hugs your waist. I love that this skirt elevates the look of this basic flannel. I was on the look out for the most ‘scotch-tape/christmassy’ flannel I could find, and hit the jackpot with this one from Old Navy.
I actually bought these shoes for my wedding! I decided not to wear them but kept them anyway. They are more sparkly in person than the photo shows, and the perfect shoe to be the standout at your next Holiday gathering.
Stay tuned for more festive looks on the blog! What are your favorite ways to dress up the Holiday season?
